Delicious pizza here at June bug. It is napoleton style which (in my very unbiased opinion...jk) is the best kind of pizza. I enjoyed all three pizzas we had. Specifically the garlic / hot honey one. Great flavor combos. The space is uniquely designed. I loved all the unique decor and fun vibes. Even the bathroom is pretty. Super friendly staff. Great addition to Union Square!

The pizza was amazing and the reason we came however, the appetizers almost blew us away more which is saying a lot. There was a bit of a wait (it was a random Tuesday evening) but the hostess was very kind and made sure to get us a spot the best she could. We got the shrimp toast and wings which were both super flavorful. The shuggie's pizza had a beautiful crust and a very nice flavor. I highly recommend it, it also good if you have picker eaters in your group.

Have been a few times since they opened and have felt their food has gotten better and better each time. There are enough apps that you could just fill up on those and they change often — don’t miss the shrimp toast though. Pizzas are inventive and delicious. They also have a superb wine and cocktail program. This is all before saying how funky and whimsical the vibes are inside. Definitely worth a meal with friends here

Maybe the best pizza in Boston - and I have tried a bunch of them. Light crispy wood-oven unleavened crust, well chosen and appropriated toppings, and multiple options for crust dipping sauce take these pizzas to the upper tier of New England pies. Shrimp toast on focaccia was another excellent form of pizza hiding on the appetizer menu. Will return soon!

Cozy, casual restaurant in a busy Somerville neighborhood. We went for our anniversary dinner on our daughter’s recommendation and glad we did. The menu isn’t extensive & keeps changing but the two appetizers we ordered were delicious as was the pizza. The pizzas are light and individual sized but after eating appetizers, one was enough split between the two of us. We got the olive oil cake & flan for dessert & they both were so delicious! Our server was amazing and at the end of dinner, refilled our wine glasses with sparkling wine on the house. I’d definitely recommend a visit to June bug. Beware, parking is an issue in the area. Take a ride share if possible.

One of the best contemporary pizza spots in the city. Recently took a visit with my friend to try this new pizza place in Union Square. The restaurant, with its blend of brick and wooden tones, exuded a cozy and romantic ambiance. The presence of plants cascading from the walls conjured images of their sister restaurant, Field & Vines. Yet, June Bug maintained its uniqueness, particularly with the stunning copper-colored, tin-covered oven, a relic from Turenne. We started off our evening with the Fluke Bay Scallop tartare. With sun choke chips adding a delightful sweet umami, the dish was further enhanced by a refreshing tang from a concoction of celery root and pear. The Mushroom salad was another hit. Despite the generous sprinkle of Mimolette cheese, it never overshadowed the earthy essence of the mushrooms and onions, but rather lent a subtle umami touch. Topped with a layer of fried minced shrimp, the shrimp toast was reminiscent of a French bread pizza with a creative twist - its seemingly simple combination of shrimp and focaccia was brought together by the creamy basil aioli. The highlight of the meal, of course, was the Dylan’s Special Pie. From the looks, it didn’t look hugely different from a typical clam pizza, but it turned out to be the best clam pizza I ever had. The fresh aroma of sweet Cicely, crisp cabbage, and the tangy vermouth cream created an excellent balance with the clam topping. The crust, chewy and perfectly baked, was also very enjoyable. Overall, one of the best pizza dinners I’ve had in my recent memory. If you’re looking for a blend of refined flavors, set against a backdrop of warm and inviting ambiance, I highly recommend giving them a try.

june bug is a GREAT spot for a dinner out. The starters and pizzas are all excellent. The shrimp toast really is as good as everyone says - especially the green butter that comes with it!

Service was amazing. I was on crutches and their whole team was attentive to ensuring I got to my table safely and that I was comfortable. They went above and beyond in this way. Vibe check - awesome atmosphere. Feels like it sits at the intersection of a whimsical and lighthearted feel while remaining clean and classy. Dope music too! Food, as expected, is also top notch. I especially appreciated the tomato sauce on the pizza. Not too sweet and enough zing to please the palate but not overload. The dough has a great balance between chew and crunch - yum! Other highlights include the mushroom salad, shrimp toast, and fluke & bay scallops tartar. Always room for dessert - see photos of their apple crisp with ginger ice cream and flan.
